Hello everyone!
Paul has found me some amazing poets :
AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN
Rose Auslander (1901 - 1988)
BRAZILIAN - Brazil was the only South American country to declare war on Germany in WW1
Cora Coralina (1889 - 1985)
Cecilia Meireles (1901 - 1964)
ROMANIAN
Izabela Sadoveaunu-Evan (1870 - 1941)
Elena Vacarescu (1864 - 1947)
SERBIAN
Jelena Spiridonovic Savic (1890 - 1974)
My grateful thanks to Paul for his patience and perseverance - this project grows by the day.
I should also like to thank my dear friend Kathleen Holyhead very much indeed. Kathleen put into my hands on Tuesday a little notebook of poetry handwritten by her Grandmother who, we think, was born in around 1879. The poems are amazing and I am now busy trying to piece together the torn and yellowing pages to find as many complete poems as possible. Several of them are actually about WW1. Thank you so much Kathleen.
I am very grateful indeed for all the help and encouragement I am receiving from all over the world. My project seems to be generating renewed interest in the subject.
Apologies - I have not yet discovered how to add the accents to those names requiring accents.
